General Questions

You might be wondering…

For general wellness care during our daytime practice hours, yes! You can request an appointment through our mobile app, our online chat box below, or by contacting us at (252) 649-3649 (call or text!).

For after hours emergencies, we operate on a triage basis. This means that we do NOT make appointments, and service is NOT first-come, first-served. The most critical cases will always be seen and treated first. Less urgent cases may experience a longer wait, regardless of the order of your arrival time. See our Emergency Vet Care page for more information.
For your convenience we offer a select number of day-admissions, allowing you to bring your pet to the hospital and leave them with us for a few hours or more. The doctor will examine your pet in between appointments, or as time permits. Once the doctor has completed the exam or procedure, they will call you to discuss any diagnosis or medications, and arrange a time for you to come pick up your pet. Additional fees apply for day-admissions.

All dogs must be leashed and under owner control while in the waiting area or exam rooms. Retractable leashes MUST BE LOCKED at a length no greater than six feet for the entire duration of your visit, and while anywhere on our property, including the relief area.

Cats must be in an appropriate carrier, or on a leash.

We make a sincere effort to see every client on time, however the occasional appointment delay is inevitable due to unforeseen circumstances or emergencies. We ask for your timely arrival in order to aid us in keeping our schedule on track throughout the day.

Payment is required at the time services are rendered. We accept all major credit and debit cards, digital wallets, Scratch Pay, Trupanion Pet Insurance, Cherry Payment Plans, and cash. We do NOT accept personal checks. We do NOT accept Care Credit. View all of our client policies here.

Don’t forget to ask us about choosing a Care Plan that’s right for you and your pet! These flexible pet care plans designed to keep your pet healthy all year long have built-in discounts & instant account credit to be used toward your pet’s healthcare needs, PLUS 24/7 pet advice!

While staff is on site 24-hours to care for hospitalized patients, we are not open to the public for emergency intake at all hours.

We are OPEN around-the-clock starting at 7:00 AM on Tuesday, until 7:00 AM on Monday.

We are CLOSED for intake on Mondays. Staff is on site for medication pick-up, technician appointments, transfer of hospitalized pets, or as previously arranged.

If you’re not sure whether your pet is experiencing an emergency, please call. Our phones are answered 24-hours/day and we may be able to help determine if your pet should be seen immediately, or if we can schedule an appointment during our regular business hours. Critical emergencies after intake is closed may still be seen at the attending doctor’s discretion.
